The Italian Riviera is a unique destination that offers you a variety of simple, relaxing experiences – a day at the beach, say, or maybe a swim in the sea. But there’s also no shortage of much more demanding ones – say, rock climbing or hiking up into the high mountains. And then there’s much, much more. This is a place steeped in cultural traditions, the bounty of the soil, food and wine, magnificent scenery, and local people who, although they might appear shy at first, are open and warm.
If you want to add a splash of authentic Liguria to your stay at the Giuan, try some of our Giuan Experiences. We hunt down the very best activities our local area has to offer (trying each one personally!) to make sure that every guests’ stay with us is a memory they’ll keep with them for a long time to come. And, of course, to make sure they want to come back to visit us as soon as possible! Just some of these activities include mountain biking with specialist guides, tastings of the local Moscatello di Taggia, vineyard and cellar door tours, exploring the oil mills where they produce Taggiasca olive oil, guided tours of Taggia’s extraordinary historic centre, as well as tours of Triora, the Argentina Valley, and the towering Monte Saccarello, which reaches over 2,200 metres (7,200 feet).
Using the Giuan as your base, you can visit a host of famous places, such as the Sanremo Casino and the Hanbury Botanical Gardens in Ventimiglia, and other lesser known ones, such as the Logge di Santa Chiara in Parasio di Porto Maurizio, Imperia. Or maybe you’d enjoy a trip to beautiful Cervo, an authentic Ligurian village perched high above the sea that’s easily on a par with the villages of Cinque Terre. Another highlight is the fascinating Capo Don archaeology site in Riva Ligure, with its multimedia centre.
And then our hotel could hardly be closer to the Parco Costiero shared cycling path, which you can use to discover unique landscapes, magical seaside villages, special restaurants, and deserted coves.
Plus, we’re only a few kilometres from beautiful Sanremo, with its old port, markets, old town centre (la Pigna), the amazing Teatro Ariston, and all its shops. We’re constantly updating our detailed list of selected local attractions to make sure our guests really experience the best our area has to offer.
